Director of Safety and Compliance

Susan Spence

I have been in the transportation industry for the last 10 years. I owned my own trucking company for three of those years, managing the operation of OTR flatbed trucks as well as local dump trucks. After closing my company, I joined MC Freight, starting in accounting and eventually becoming the Director of Safety and Compliance. With my previous industry experience, I bring a fresh approach to safety and compliance. Having worked in multiple areas of this industry, I understand how all parts of the business need to work together as a team to accomplish our goals.

My number one priority is ensuring we operate a safe fleet and follow all rules and regulations. My second priority is developing a rapport with all drivers by advocating for their needs and ensuring everyone is appreciated and treated like a valued team member, not just a number. I have an open-door policy and encourage communication, especially when things are not going as planned.
